Why a militia?
There have been many reports of violence in the wake of natural
disasters. Reports of robberies, beatings, and much worse have become
commonplace after hurricanes. Looters use all levels of violence to take
advantage of the absence of law enforcement, and in some cases, law
enforcement personnel have participated in criminal activities during
periods of chaos and anarchy.
On the other hand, there have also been many reports of armed citizens
defending their families and property and preventing violent crimes
when the police, firefighters, and emergency medical teams are
not available. It is particularly important to prevent serious personal
injury when there is no medical help available, such as during or
immediately following a natural disaster.
To defend against violent criminals and to provide aid, rescue, medical
assistance, and protection in the aftermath of natural disasters, invasion,
nuclear strike, or other unforeseen catastrophes, a properly organized and
prepared citizen militia should be available to serve and protect their
fellow citizens.
What is a militia and what would be the purpose of a militia in the twenty-first century?
The United States of America was founded, and attained sovereign
status in the world, through the efforts of the established army and also
bands of citizens who were willing to fight to secure the blessings of
liberty. These bands of armed citizens were the milita.

The
US Code
defines two categories of militia, the organized miltia and the unorganized militia:
Sec. 311. Militia: composition and classes
-STATUTE-
(a) The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age and, except as provided in section
313 of title 32,
under 45 years of age who are, or who have made a declaration of intention
to become, citizens of the United States and of female citizens of the
United States who are members of the National Guard.
(b) The classes of the militia are -
(1) the organized militia, which consists of the National Guard and the
Naval Militia; and
(2) the unorganized militia, which consists of the
members of the militia who are not members of the National Guard or the
Naval Militia.
The Christian Milita Network exists to promote the formation of a national unorganized militia made up of regional groups of militia, composed
of citizens who are not part of the armed services or national guard.
Why a Christian milita?
When natural disasters strike, it is common for government services to be
unavailable for an extended period of time. After Katrina in 2005, there
were many reports of violence and a complete breakdown of law and order;
the situation in some areas had deteriorated into complete anarchy and chaos.
Some people's lives went from ordinary to a fight for survival in a matter
of hours.
All people have the ability to act based on their choices. In society,
laws serve as a direct indication of what type of behavior is permitted,
and also what type of behavior is not permitted. Punishment for breaking
the law acts as a deterrent in the hope that people will realize what the
penalty for breaking the law is and choose to obey the law. Anybody can
choose to break the law at any time; some people choose not to break the
law because they have no intention of causing any measure of harm to their
fellow citizens, some people choose not to break the law because they are
afraid of getting caught and being punished.
When there is no fear of punishment, the only deterrent to breaking the law,
or more importantly harming fellow human beings and committing crimes
against God, is found in a person's moral composition. Christians have a
moral foundation that is supplied by the Almighty, and regardless of what
the US code states or the laws on the books at the time, Christians are
held to a higher standard. Christians know that their law is based in the
Ten Commandments and the commandments of Jesus Christ, who said
"This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his
friends." John 15:12-13
Good Christians avoid sin because they love God, not because they fear
punishment. Christians know that ultimately they answer to the Lord, and
His punishment is more severe than any punishment the state could mete out.
Jesus specifically commands his followers to obey the Ten Commandments.
Christians also are called to serve their fellow man, and for this reason
Christians are in a unique position to have the desire to help in times of
trouble. Mercy, compassion, love, kindness, and charity are requirements
for Christians, and when there is no fear of punishment from the state,
Christianity provides the ideal moral foundation for the actions of
responsible citizens.
Do I have to own a firearm to join?
No. Approximately ten percent of the troops deployed in Iraq are combat troops,
the other ninety percent are support personnel. The Christian Militia Network is intended
to be a service organization, and in the event of destruction on a large
scale, there are many skills required to provide aid and assistance to
people in need, particularly doctors and nurses, electricians, carpenters,
automobile mechanics, electrical engineers, electronics technicians,
plumbers, the list goes on and on. If it becomes necessary to brandish
firearms for defensive purposes in an emergency, as long as there are
enough people with firearms available, not everybody will need to have a
weapon to provide assistance. So no, owning a firearm is not required, but
having at least one reliable firearm and knowing how to use it would
certainly be an asset.
Is this some whacko paramilitary anti-government organization?
No. All members of the Christian Milita Network are expected to obey the
Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the state in which
they live, all laws of the United States of America, and all laws of the
state in which they reside. In some states, the militia may be required to
report for duty if the Governor declares a state of emergency and needs
additional assistance. Some states give the ability to sheriffs to
deputize the militia for law enforcement purposes such as forming a posse
to apprehend fugitives from justice, quell rebellions, repel invasions, and
assist in other law enforcement matters that require more manpower than the
sheriff has at his disposal. That does not mean the militia members are
required to follow unlawful orders, such as go door to door and confiscate
firearms. Like all military personnel, militia members are required to
respectfully disobey orders that are unconstitutional or a violation of the
law. The individual state laws will be examined and a policy will be
created for each state once the regional militia units are assembled.
If you hate the government, that is your business and has no place in the
Christian Militia Network which exists to help those in need. The
Christian Militia Network is strictly a defensive organization that exists
to provide aid and protection for its members and citizens who need help,
need protection, or who cannot defend themselves for whatever reason.
Is this a political organization?
Any organization with more than one member is a political organization.
The political agenda of the Christian Militia Network can be summed up in
three issues:
1. Preservation of the rights endowed by the Creator and protected by the
first amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, which states:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or
prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech,
or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to
petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
The ability to peaceably assemble is necessary for Christians to worship
the Lord in the manner that He commanded.
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in
the midst of them." Mat 18:20
It is crucial for Christians that the free exercise of religion not be
limited in any way, our very salvation depends upon it. It is also crucial
for Christians to be able to establish a solid Christian foundation for our
children so that they may be free to worship the Lord in the manner that
was established for us in scripture, and "to secure the blessings of liberty
to ourselves and our posterity."
2. Preservation of the rights endowed by the Creator and protected by the
second amendment to the Constitution of the United States of America, which
states:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free
State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be
infringed.
The right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The
Supreme Court has affirmed in DC versus Heller that the right to
keep and bear arms is an individual right, exactly as it is in the rest of
the Bill of Rights. The extremely broad ruling provides ample opportunity
for government at all levels to restrict gun ownership as long as those
restrictions meet the definition of "reasonable" restrictions.
In a time of extreme crisis, citizens may be required to defend themselves,
their families, and their communities against roving bands of thugs intent
on robbing, stealing, or worse. In that situation, it would be very useful
to have a high-powered, semi-automatic rifle such as an AR-15 or an AK-47
and a stockpile of ammunition available to repel a group of armed bandits
or terrorists willing to use lethal force to achieve their goals.
Previous disaster scenarios have illustrated what happens to citizens
who do not have the means to defend themselves against groups of violent
criminals. The citizenry may be required to help their elected public
servants understand what "reasonable" firearm restrictions are, possibly
as often as every two years. Given the fact that law enforcement personnel
are not expected or required to protect the citizenry (nor should they be),
and that we live in a dangerous world that is getting more dangerous every
day, the lessons learned from history should not be forgotten easily or
considered impossibly remote, unlikely, or anecdotal.
3. Unity of purpose as related to the previous two issues.
Members of the Christian Militia Network who adhere to its principles are
ideally suited to tackle the unique problem that comes from those who are
unwilling to consider, or even hostile to, the idea that difficult times
may arise, and who would remove the tools necessary for preserving life and
liberty during catastrophic times in exchange for the illusion of security
today. Through patience and charity, those of us who have been called to be
the watchmen on the wall and who understand the threats that exist will remain
vigilant and work to preserve the rights protected by the those articles
which have been given to us for this very purpose.
Is this some white power, racist organization?
No. Emphatically, no! If you think that Christianity is for white people
only, you will not be welcome in the Christian Militia Network. There are
plenty of other organizations you can join to reinforce that sort of
behavior and ideology - this is not one of them. For a more detailed

Can I join if my ancestors came from (insert your national heritage here)?
Yes. As long as you agree with and can honor the statement with your actions:
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal,
that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

Can I join if I am Jewish?
Absolutely. Christians and Jews share a common Biblical heritage and all Jewish people are
encouraged to participate, particularly if they are competent in operating a firearm.
Can I join if I am a homosexual?
Yes, but... It is well known that homosexuality is referred to as an
abomination in the Bible.
Christians are not allowed to judge others, that
privilege is reserved for God. Any Christian who discriminates against
another person is guilty of a sin, only God can judge us. It is important
for Christians in particular to show compassion for somebody who is trying
to reconcile their homosexuality and their faith in Jesus Christ, or any
spiritual difficulty for that matter whether it be alcohol, drugs, gambling,
pornography addictions, family problems, grief, whatever the situation.
That said, people who unabashedly engage in homosexual relations and have
no intention of reconciliation with God may encounter some difficulties
within the Christian Militia Network.
Can I join if I am an atheist?
Yes, but you had better be prepared to be evangelized. As soon as somebody
says "praise the Lord" and you reply "whatever dude" you should expect to
get an earful, that is just how many Christians are. If you can tolerate
what would most likely be constant evangelizing, then you are definitely
welcome.
If, on the other hand, you want to join because you want to turn people away from
God and Jesus Christ, your membership will be denied or cancelled.
If your goal is to join so that you can prove to a bunch of ignorant holy rollers why
you are right and they are wrong, don't waste your time. If you find the
idea repugnant or ludicrous that people believe in the almighty creator of
heaven and earth, his only begotten son Jesus, the mystery of faith, and
the Bible as the inspired word of God, and you only want to cause trouble, argue,
make people mad, or hurt their feelings you are not welcome.
All members must adhere to the ten commandments, the golden rule, and the commandments
of Jesus, even if you do not accept them. Those who do not will have their memberships
promptly rescinded.
What about abortion?
The Christian Milita Network is not an organization for marshalling the
troops and laying seige to abortion clinics. All militia units are
strictly for defensive purposes only. If you want to form an army to
blockade abortion clinics, that is your choice, but the Christian Militia
Network does not support or condone that kind of activity. If you don't
like the fact that women can choose to destroy the supreme gift that has
been given to them by God, call your Senators and Congressmen, use the
legislative process. Christian Militias exists to protect fellow Christians and
any other people who need our help and are willing to live in fellowship with us,
not to coerce them into behaving the way you want them to behave.
Is this for real?
Absolutely. This is serious. If you worry that another hurricane, earthquake,
tornado, or flood will cause widespread destruction, extended power outages, and shortages of water, food, and medical resources,
putting you and your family in grave danger, and you would like to find a group of people with plans for
managing that type of situation, this is the place for you.
If you are even slightly concerned with the
path that the world is headed down and you would like to do something about
it, this is the place for you. If you have that nagging feeling that something has gone
terribly wrong, you are being lied to constantly, but you are not quite
sure what it is and would like to find out more, this is the place for you.
If all you want to do is get some information,
this is the place for you. If you want to chat with like-minded people who
share the same concerns, this is the place for you. If you believe deep
down to your core that it is only a matter of time before Damascus is
reduced to rubble, a new Temple will be built on the temple mount, and star
Wormwood will make a large part of the planet uninhabitable, this is most
definitely the place for you.
